Areva T&D India bags BHEL contract
Areva T&D India's transmission business said it bagged a contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd for supply of a gas-insulated substation package.
The contract, worth about Rs 58 crore, covers manufacturing, engineering and installation of 11 bays of 420kV substations for a hydro power project at Rampur, Himachal Pradesh.
The gas-insulated substations would be delivered from the company’s ultra high voltage switchgear factory at Paddapai.
Areva T&D India managing director Rathin Basu said, "Gas insulated substation is a high end compact technology that we have successfully localised in India. To date Areva T&D India has supplied the highest number of GIS bays in India.”
