40th convention of IFAWPCA to be held at Kochi

KOCHI: The 40th convention of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations ( IFAWPCA) would be held at Kochi in January 6 to 9, 2013.

The IFAWPCA, headquartered at Manila, has the builders and contractors associations of 16 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India etc, as its members. It facilitates transfer of technology for infrastructure development and promotes cooperation between Governments and contractors in the region.

The convention will bring together 1000 delegates from member countries. The theme of the convention is “Responsible Infrastructure”. Well known speakers from India and other countries will participate in the seminars and discussions arranges as part of the conventions.

The Convention will be hosted by Kochi centre of the Builders Association of India. The president of IFAWPCA is Ajit Gulabchand, the C & MD of Hindustan Construction Corporation while the general secretary is M V Antony C & MD of Kunnel Engineers and Contractors (P) Ltd, Kochi.
