Urea sale surges by 12% at 19.4 lakh tonne

The sale of urea increased by 12 per cent at 19.4 lakh tonnes during Kharif season upto May 31, 2006, compared to 16.99 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.

NEW DELHI: The sale of urea increased by 12 per cent at 19.4 lakh tonnes during Kharif season upto May 31, 2006, compared to 16.99 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The availability of urea in May was about 38.03 lakh tonnes and about 18.80 lakh tonnes of urea was dispatched to the states during the month, an official release said.
Decontrolled fertlizers like DAP and MOP availabilities in May was 15.03 lakh tonne and 13.02 lakh tonne respectively, which was adequate to meet the states' demands, it said.
