In a regulatory filing, the company said the production of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) will be suspended from June 19 due to emerging market conditions.
"...the company has decided to supply DAP to its customers from inventory in hand and imports, and consequently production of complex fertilisers, including DAP, is being temporarily suspended at Haldia, West Bengal," it said.
However, the production of Single Super Phosphate ( SSP) will remain unaffected, it said.
DAP prices have also declined sharply to $340-350 per tonne from $440 per tonne last year.
The Haldia plant has an annual capacity of 1.2 million tonnes and produces sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid, besides di-ammonium phosphate (DAP), NPK fertiliser and SSP.
