Tata Chemicals on Friday said a three-member tribunal of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) has unanimously rejected a ₹908-crore claim filed against it by Allied Silica Limited (ASL) and its promoter, Manmohan Singh Jain.

In its final award dated October 15, 2026, the tribunal, however, directed Tata Chemicals to pay a principal amount of ₹1 crore, along with interest and certain costs, to Allied Silica.

The payment direction was issued by a majority of the tribunal's members, while the dissenting member rejected the direction to pay the principal amount, interest and costs.

The company had earlier informed stock exchanges on December 11, 2024, that Allied Silica and Jain had filed a ₹908-crore claim against it in arbitration proceedings initiated under MCIA rules.

Tata Chemicals said it is currently examining the final award and will evaluate its future course of action.

The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges under Regulations 30 and 51 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India's Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
