Periyar Chemicals to set up Rs 30 cr Container Freight station
The Kerala-based Periyar Chemicals will sett up Rs 30 crore Container Freight station at nearby Edayar.
State Industries Minister, Elamaram Kareem, will lay the project's foundation stone at PCL premises on Sept 8. About 8 acres land of the company will be used for the freight station, which is expected to be ready in 12 to 14 months. The CFS will be able to accommodate 12,000 TEUs of container per annum and would provide direct and indirect employment to about 200-300 persons, Company Managing Director K P Roy told a press meet here.
PCL will also be launching its new product 'actiform' a formic acid formulation, in the market on Sept 8. Sebastian Paul, MP, will be launching the product which would be of great help to the rubber farmers. Actiform is used to make rubber sheets from latex.
This product will help bring down the sales of adulterated formic acid in the market, using which only low quality rubber sheets can be made, he said. Formic acid is the best coagulant for making rubber sheets.
