Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC) said Friday it shut down its TDI-II plant at Dahej, Gujarat, after a sudden leakage was detected, though the incident caused no casualties or property damage.

“We hereby inform that on September 19, 2025, a sudden leakage occurred at the TDI-II Plant, Dahej, necessitating an immediate shutdown of the plant as a precautionary measure. The safe shutdown procedures were promptly and effectively executed,” the company said in an exchange filing.

GNFC stressed the incident was contained within the plant premises, with no gas release beyond the boundary, and said there was “no damage to property, and no loss of life.”

The company added the facility would be restarted only after “completion of the necessary checks and remedial measures,” citing its “strong safety culture.”

GNFC, a state-promoted fertilizer and chemical maker, said the incident does not trigger any insurance claims, nor will it have an impact on operations.
