Bharatiya plans leather SEZ in AP

HYDERABAD: New Delhi based Bharatiya International Ltd is planning to set up a leather products SEZ in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, according to a statement from the Andhra Pradesh government here on Thursday. Bharatiya International will set up 10 units of its own in the SEZ, apart from those of several other leather manufacturers who have expressed interest in the setting up a facility in the SEZ.

The managing director of the company Snehdeep Aggarwal signed the MoU with the state governement represented by the Industries secretary of Andhra, Y Srilakshmi, on Wednesday. The SEZ will provide employment opportunities to over 10,000 people in five years of operations, the statement added. Bhartiya International will commence construction within six months from the date of handing over the land and the approval for setting up an SEZ.
