Bayer gets regulatory nod for new insecticide in India

Crop science company Bayer Cropscience AG on Wednesday said it had been granted regulatory approval for its new insecticidal active ingredient 'flubendiamide' in India.

NEW DELHI: Crop science company Bayer Cropscience AG on Wednesday said it had been granted regulatory approval for its new insecticidal active ingredient 'flubendiamide' in India.

The company is planning to launch the insecticide under brand name 'Fame' in the country.

Bayer's new insecticide has also received the full regulatory approval in the Philippines and Pakistan where it is marketed as Fenos and Belt respectively.

Bayer Cropscience AG is also expecting to get the regulatory approvals to be granted for flubendiamide in US, Canada, Brazil and European countries next year,the company said in a release.

"As global market leader in important insecticides market, we are delighted to be able to offer an innovative active ingredient with a novel mode of action. Flubendiamide will help to further rejuvenate our comprehensive range of products" Bayer cropscience AG Head Global Portfolio Management, Dr Rudiger Scheitza said.
