AM Green, VOCPA ink pact for green ammonia plant

Under the memorandum of understanding signed on May 28, AM Green plans to build marine bunkering capacity of up to 200,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually by 2029-30, backed by an investment of about ₹2,000 crore.

Mumbai: AM Green and VO Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) have signed an agreement to develop a green ammonia production and marine bunkering hub at Tuticorin.

Under the memorandum of understanding signed on May 28, AM Green plans to build marine bunkering capacity of up to 200,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually by 2029-30, backed by an investment of about ₹2,000 crore.

The partners also aim to expand capacity to 500,000 tonnes by 2035, subject to market demand, requiring total investments of around ₹5,000 crore.
