50,000 MT of urea created as buffer stock in Haryana
Haryana government has assured the farmers of adequate supply of urea for the current rabi season and has created a buffer stock of about 50,000 metric tonnes of the fertiliser to avoid its shortage.
Out of 50,000 tonnes, fertiliser company KRIBHCO has already created a buffer of over 33,000 tonnes and the rest would be done by the end of this month.
Haryana's Director (Agriculture), Sumita Misra said here today that the buffer stock has been created as per the guidelines of the central government to avoid any shortage of urea fertiliser in the state.
She assured of availability of sufficient stocks of Urea in Haryana and said that all arrangements have been made by the government to meet the shortage, if any, of urea in the state.
A total of 11 lakh MT of urea is expected to be consumed in the state during the current rabi season.
The availability of fertilisers was being closely monitored in collaboration with the Centre, district administration and fertiliser suppliers, she said.
A meeting with the suppliers to review the availability, stocks and supply of fertilizers has also been convened, she said.
So far, about 4.72 lakh tonnes urea have been received against a requirement of 3.95 lakh tonnes during the month of October and November.
She also advised the farmers in the state not to buy the fertilisers through any source above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and also take receipt for the transactions.
