Ultratech Cement evaluating various options

After announcing their merger plan to create LafargeHolcim, the combined entity had identified some assets in various geographies including in Brazil.

NEW DELHI: Aditya Birla Group's flagship firm Ultratech Cement today said it is evaluating various business proposals amid speculation of it being in the race for Lafarge's cement assets in Brazil.

"In the course of business, the Company evaluates various proposals on a regular basis. There is no proposal which has reached the stage which would trigger Clause 36 of the Listing Agreement," Ultratech said in response to a clarification sought by the BSE in relation to a media report.

As per Listing Agreement, a company has to immediately inform the exchange of all events which have a bearing on its performance.

"We would, as in the past, promptly inform you of any event or information that may have a bearing on the performance/operations of the company," Ultratech added.

After announcing their merger plan last July to create LafargeHolcim, the combined entity had identified some assets in various geographies including in Brazil.

The assets in Brazil include three integrated cement plants and two grinding stations with a total capacity of 3.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
