Reliance Cement enters Amravati

Reliance Cement Company, a unit of Reliance Infrastructure, today forayed into the Amravati market in Maharashtra to sell the building material.

NEW DELHI: Reliance Cement Company (RCC), a unit of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure, today forayed into the Amravati market in Maharashtra to sell the building material produced from its Butibori plant in the state.

"We are pleased to announce the launch of Reliance Cement in Amravati. Vidarbha is a key market for us and we are happy to expand our distribution network in the region. We are already being counted amongst the leading players in Nagpur in a short span of six months," said RCC's CEO Arvind Pathak.

RCC, which is setting up two plants of five million tonnes annual capacity each in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, has plans to enter into Wardha, Chandrapur and Bhandara markets of the western state soon, it said in a release.

The company would cater to these markets from limited production that has already started at its Maharastra plant. The Madhya Pradesh unit would go on stream within the current fiscal. RCC is investing Rs 6,000 crore in these two plants.

"A strong channel network has been set-up to service the retail customers of Amravati...We are sure that we will taste the same success in Amravati," Pathak added.
