Orissa signs MoUs for cement plants, IT park
The Orissa government on Friday signed three MoUs for setting up of cement industries and an agreement with DLF Ltd for establishment of an ‘info park’ entailing a total investment of Rs 3,180 crore.
The lease-cum-development agreement was signed with DLF for a state-of-the-art park over an area of 54 acres opposite the Infocity in the Chandaka Industrial Estate in the capital city with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
The government selected DLF after a competitive bidding process after the company, with an offer of Rs 81.07 lakh per acre, emerged the successful bidder, official sources said.
The MoUs were signed with Grasim Industries Ltd, OCL India Ltd and Aso Cement Ltd for the cement projects requiring investment of Rs 2,180 crore.
Grasim planned to set up a 3.5 million tonne per annum cement plant and a 50 mw captive power plant with a total investment of Rs 1200 crore. Aso Cement Ltd would establish a 0.5 million tonne per annum capacity with an investment of Rs 130 crore.
