JK Cement aims to double it's production by 2030, launches JK Super cement brand in Kashmir

JK Cement, through its subsidiary Saifco Cements, has launched its JK Super Cement brand in Srinagar, aiming to become a market leader in the Kashmir Valley. The company plans to double its cement production to 50 MTPA in the next five years.

JK Cement Limited through its Kashmir based subsidary Saifco Cements launched its fresh JK Super cement brand here in Srinagar on Wednesday hoping to scale up the business soon and emerge as market leader.

JK Cements promised to fill the gap of "service" in the cement sector of the Kashmir Valley and have announced the ambitious national plan of doubling it's current cement production of 25 MTPA to 50 MTPA in the next five years.

Earlier this year, JK Cement announced the successful formalisation of its joint venture agreement with Saifco Cements Pvt. Ltd and acquired 60 percent stake in the company at a valuation of Rs 174 crore. This acquisition, the company stated was the first major venture by a national player in J&K's cement sector.


"Today we have realized our dream of entering into paradise on earth. This is a new market for us and we are open to feedback," said Madhav Krishna Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO, JK Cement Ltd.

The company has promised to contribute in the economic development of J&K besides ensuring best practices are implemented in this ecologically fragile region. They stated that this business initiatives is also about strengthening the local economy, empowering communities, and building the kind of self-reliant ecosystem that will support Kashmir’s growth for decades to come. "JK Super Cement’s entry into the Kashmir market is a natural extension of our long-term strategy in the North. With the region witnessing a surge in public infrastructure projects and housing development, local production allows us to serve this demand efficiently," said Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director, JK Cement Ltd.

"We are 5th largest company in the country in our sector and we aim to double our cement production from current 25 MTPA to 50 MTPA in next five years," said Anuj Khandelwal, Business Head of grey cement business at JK Cement.

At the launch function here in Srinagar at SKICC on the banks of Dal Lake, major cement dealers, stockists, engineers and architects from across the Valley were invited.
