Jaypee Cement eyes 15 per cent revenue growth this fiscal

KOLKATA: Jaypee Cement, a division of Jaypee Group, is aiming 15 per cent revenue growth during the current financial year, a company official said.

"The revenue growth of the cement industry is likely to be 3 to 4 per cent this fiscal. Jaypee Cement's revenue growth to be 15 per cent", K Swaminathan, President (Commercial), Jaypee Cement told reporters.

Out of Rs 18,000-crore turnover of the group, the cement division was contributing Rs 12,000 crore, he said.

He said that owing to gloomy economic conditions, the cement industry was going through a tough phase. "We will optimise the capacities at the plants at the moment", he told reporters here today.

The combined capacity of the cement business was at 37.3 million tonnes per annum across 12 plants, he said.
