Cement firms to pump Rs 50k cr in 3 yrs to up capacity

Cement industry will add 110 MT to its production capacity at an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next three years.

NEW DELHI: Cement industry in the country will add 110 million tons to its production capacity at an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next three years, Cement Manufacturers' Association said today.

"In the next three years, Rs 50,000 crore is being invested for increasing cement capacity in the country by 110 million tons," association's newly elected president H M Bangur told reporters here.

During April-November, the country saw an 8 per cent growth in the cement production, he said.

On pricing, Bangur said it is stable right now and would remain at the existing level for the next six months.
