Cement companies drop cement prices by 5 percent

GUWAHATI: Cement manufacturers have slashed cement price by 5 percent per bag. Leading local cement manufacturing companies have dropped their prices from Rs. 340 to Rs. 325 per bag in Assam.

Aninda Talukdar, General Manager - Marketing, Surya Gold Cement said, "Drop in cement prices will affect the profitability of the companies however end consumer will continue to be benefited."

Sources in the industry said the drop in cement prices is due to different market dynamics relating to coal, power, transportation, distribution, etc. whose prices keep fluctuating due to many reasons, thus resulting in lows and highs in cement prices for the market.
