Acc, Ambuja Cement, UltraTech report higher sales in December

MUMBAI: Leading cement companies like ACC, Ambuja Cement and UltraTech have reported increase in production of between seven and 11 percent in December.

Production at Aditya Birla Group's UltraTech Cement grew 10.8 percent to 3.77 million tonne (mt), ACC reported a growth of 6.28 percent to 2.03 mt while for Ambuja it was 1.91 mt, up 6.81 percent in December, the companies said in separate statements.

Meanwhile, UltraTech's despatches for the month grew to 3.62 mt, up 10.5 percent, while for ACC and Ambuja it was 8.85 percent and 5.75 percent respectively to 2.09 mt and 1.82 mt.

For the calendar year 2011, production of ACC grew to 23.66 mt from 21.21 mt, while Ambuja's grew to 20.96 mt from 20.12 mt during the same period.

Cement despatches of ACC and Ambuja for the period grew to 20.95 mt and 23.68 mt from 20.12 mt and 21.17 mt respectively.
