BANGALORE: Wockhardt Hospitals, a leading healthcare provider group, on Monday announced a strategic tie up with US based IndUShealth Inc., a global health care service that links uninsured and self-insured Americans to affordable, high-quality medical care outside the US.
Under the agreement, IndUShealth will coordinate overseas care at Wockhardt Hospitals in India for American patients in need of highly complex medical procedures, a Wockhardt release said.
American patients can avail of medical procedures including Heart Surgery, Joint Replacements, Spine surgery and Minimal Access Surgery at any of the super speciality hospitals of the Wockhardt Group in India, it said.
In 2005, more than a 175,000 International patients received medical care in India and this number is growing at 30 per cent annum, it said.
"This agreement is bound to increase medical tourism traffic into India, which has been attracting rising numbers of international patients in recent years and there has been a rapid and widespread acceptance by patients of India based physicians in the US," said Rajesh Rao, co-founder and CEO, IndUShealth.
