The Delta variant was first detected in India. It is proven to be more contagious than other variants. The concern is that it is showing more resistance to the Covid vaccine as well.

Stronger resistance
A study published in the Lancet medical journal found that those who were vaccinated with both doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, had antibody levels that were six times lower in the presence of the Delta variant, in comparison to the original strain.

Getting both doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab makes it 88 percent effective against the Delta variant. AstraZeneca shows an efficacy of 60 percent against the same. While the Sputnik V team has also tweeted, that their vaccine is “"more efficient against the Del

Get both jabs
Studies have shown that one dose of any vaccine does not have the same effectiveness as getting both doses. In fact, the Pasteur Institute found that a single dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine would have “little to no efficacy” against the Delta variant.
