Zydus Lifesciences and its wholly-owned US subsidiary, Zydus Pharmaceuticals USA, have entered into a settlement agreement with Astellas Pharma Inc., resolving ongoing patent litigation related to Astellas’ Myrbetriq (generic name: Mirabegron), the company said in a filing to BSE and NSE on Thursday.

Under the terms of the agreement, Zydus will pay Astellas an upfront sum of $120 million. In addition, Zydus will pay a prepaid per-unit licensing fee on units of its generic Mirabegron sold in the US from the date of the settlement until September 2027.

Other details of the agreement remain confidential.

The settlement ends all ongoing litigation between the two companies related to Myrbetriq and Mirabegron and allows Zydus to continue marketing its generic Mirabegron in the US, a key growth market for the company.

Zydus had previously disclosed the ongoing US patent litigation with Astellas in April 2025.
