Zydus Cadila gets USFDA nod for hypertension drug Isbesartan tablet

AHMEDABAD: Drug firm Zydus Cadila has received the US health regulator's approval to market Isbesartan tablets, used in treating hypertension, in the American market.

The company said in a press statement that it has received approval for Irbesartan Tablets from the US Food and Drug Administration ( USFDA) in a strength of 75 mg, 150 mg and 300 mg.

As per the company, in 2011 as per US agency NDC the estimated sales was $ 489 million. The group now has 72 approvals and has so far filed 150 ANDAs since the commencement of filling process in FY 2003-04.
