Zenotech gets marketing nod for cancer drug

Zenotech Laboratories on Tuesday said it has received marketing approval for 'GM-CSF' and 'G-CSF', its generic versions for treating blood disorder in cancer patients and will launch both the products in India in the next few days.

MUMBAI: Zenotech Laboratories on Tuesday said it has received marketing approval for 'GM-CSF' and 'G-CSF', its generic versions for treating blood disorder in cancer patients and will launch both the products in India in the next few days.

'GM-CSF' and 'G-CSF' are the generic versions of Novartis' 'Leucomax' and Amgen/Roche's 'Neupogen' respectively and are used by oncology specialists to treat neutropenia in cancer patients, the company informed Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company said it was in discussions with potential partners to take its G-CSF to the European Union.

Scientists from Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) and National Institute of Biologics have inspected the company's biologics manufacturing facility, which meets USFDA and EU specifications, it added.
