Wockhardt gets FDA nod to enter US Norvasc market
Wockhardt has launched Amlodipine tablets in US market. The tablets are in strengths of 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg. The US market for Amlodipine tablets is $2.6 billion.
MUMBAI: Wockhardt has launched Amlodipine tablets in US market. The tablets are in strengths of 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg. The US market for Amlodipine tablets is $2.6 billion.
Amlodipine besylate is used for treating hypertension and other related cardiac ailments. Norvasc is the brand name of Amlodipin. This tablets are manufactured at Waluj in Maharashtra.
"Wockhardt is gaining a very strong position in several other cardiovascular products, like Enalapril and Captopril. With Amlodipine, Company will reinforce our robust cardiovascular portfolio", said the Company's Chairman Habil Khorakiwala.
"This rapid increase in our US product portfolio is enabling us to synergistically gain market share across products".
Shares of Wockhardt on Monday closed up 1.49 per cent at Rs 400.70 on BSE, with volume traded at 17,522 against two-week average of 31,142 shares.
