UP government bans 57 medicines

The Uttar Pradesh government has banned 57 medicines manufactured by 39 companies after their samples were found below standard.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Uttar Pradesh government has banned 57 medicines manufactured by 39 companies after their samples were found below standard, a senior official said on Monday.

"The Health Department has decided to ban 57 drugs after their samples were found below standard," Additional Director of Health Department Dr G C Chaturvedi said here.

All the Chief Medical Officers in the state have been asked to seize the stocks of the banned drugs, he added.

Meanwhile, licenses of 27 medical stores in the district have been suspended.
