Torrent Pharma launches 3 new speciality arms

MUMBAI: Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals on Friday said it has launched three new speciality divisions to cater to niche therapeutic areas of cardio-diabeta (C&D), central nervous system (CNS) and gastro segments.
The company on Friday informed the BSE that the three divisions - Omega, Sensa and Alfa would help strengthen its topline.
“Divisionalisation will help us launch molecules with greater regularity. This will ensure better doctor coverage, more prescriptions and therefore, higher sales revenues,” Torrent Pharma head strategic marketing Ruchir Modi said.
Omega, the new cardio-diabeta (C&D) division, would have special focus on diabetes and nephrology. This division would complement Torrent’s existing C&D divisions — Azuca, Delta and Psycan.
Torrent, with sales of Rs 180 crore, currently has a 4.8 per cent share in the Rs 3,750 crore C&D market. The new CNS division, Sensa, would focus on ailments like — Parkinsons, Alzheimers and depression.
