Suven gets patents for 3 NCEs for neuro disorders in India

MUMBAI: Suven Life Sciences has received product patents in India for three new chemical entities 208688, 208714 and 209540 for treatment of disorders associated with neuro degenerative diseases. The patents are valid till 2022.

The patents include the class of selective 5-HT compounds discovered by the company and useful in the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with neuro-degenerative disorders like Alzhemier's, attention deficient hyperactivity, Huntington's, Parkinson and Schizophrenia.

The company is working as a collaborative research partner with Elli Lilly to discover and develop NCEs for an unmet medical need in CNS therapeutic area since Sep 2006. At 11:48 pm, on BSE, Suven Life Science shares were up by 6.07 per cent at Rs 33 from Monday’s close.
