Suven files investigational new drug application

Pharma firm Suven Life Sciences said on Thursday that it has filed an application with Drug Control General of India to get approval for conducting phase I trials on its new drug -- SUVN-502 -- intended to be used for treating cognitive disorders.

NEW DELHI: Pharma firm Suven Life Sciences said on Thursday that it has filed an application with Drug Control General of India to get approval for conducting phase I trials on its new drug -- SUVN-502 -- intended to be used for treating cognitive disorders.
SUVN-502 is a novel, highly selective and orally active drug, which acts on the central nervous system and is intended for the treatment of cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's and Scizophrenia, Suven said in a statement.
The Hyderabad-based firm has been involved in contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS) since 1995, drug discovery and development support services since 2005 and collaborative research since 2006, it said.
