Sun Pharma enters settlement in antitrust litigation in US

NEW DELHI: Indian pharmaceutical giant Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd and one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries have entered into settlements with “certain plaintiffs” in an antitrust litigation matter currently pending in the United States, the company said.

“Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, and one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries have entered into settlements with certain plaintiffs in re Modafinil Antitrust Litigation matter currently pending in the United states District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania,” the drug maker told the Bombay Stock Exchange late on Friday.

The settlements extend to all claims brought by Canadian pharma corporation Apotex and the Retailer Purchaser Plaintiffs, the company said, adding that the terms of the settlements are confidential.
