Sun gets notice for from Taro for termination of merger pact

Domestic drug firm Sun Pharmaceutical, which had acquired Israel-based Taro Pharma for 455 million dollar last year, today said the Israel-based company has terminated the merger agreement.

NEW DELHI: Domestic drug firm Sun Pharmaceutical, which had acquired Israel-based Taro Pharma for 455 million dollar last year, today said the Israel-based company has terminated the merger agreement.

"Sun Pharmaceutical has received a notice from Taro Pharma for the termination of its merger agreement," the company said in a statement without disclosing details.

Mumbai-based Sun Pharmaceutical had last year agreed to acquire Taro Pharma, a multinational generic manufacturer in an all cash deal worth 455 million dollars.
