Shilpa Medicare gets suitability certificate for Oxaliplatin EP
Shilpa Medicare has received the certificate of suitability of Monographs from European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines for the active pharmaceutical ingredient Oxaliplatin EP.
The world-wide sales for Oxaliplatin valued to $ 1.9 billion in 2006 and it is growing at 28 per ccent per year. Recently, Shilpa Medicare has also received approval from South Korea FDA for ambroxol HCL and gemcitabine HCL. The company has already filed EDMF for Gemcitabine HCL in 27 European countries. Gemcitabine HCL is going off the patent soon and the global market size in 2006 was $1,193 million.
Gemcitabine HCL is a cancer medication used in the treatment of cancer of pancreas lungs and breast. Gemcitabine interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and stops the spread of cancer cell in the body. Ambroxol HCL is an expectorant and mucolytic. At 11:35 am, Shilpa Medicare shares were down 5.85 per cent at Rs 69.95 on BSE.
