Serum Institute seeks indemnity after talks for waiving off liabilities for foreign vaccine makers
"Not just Serum Institute of India (SII), all the vaccine companies should get indemnity protection against liabilities if foreign companies are granted the same," the sources added.
This comes a day after reports suggested that the Centre may grant indemnity to foreign vaccine makers, including Pfizer and Moderna.
“The discussions are ongoing with Pfizer and (we) are close to achieving a breakthrough. We are ready to support them in terms of indemnity with certain conditions, similar to what has been granted in other countries,” said a government official.
