Sanofi India launches new product in headache segment

Healthcare service provider Sanofi India, is aiming at a four per cent market share in the headache segment currently valued at Rs 233 crore

MUMBAI: Sanofi India Limited has launched Combiflam® Plus, a medicine specifically to cure headaches. Combiflam Plus is a combination of paracetamol and caffeine. Priced at Rs 9.50 for a pack of four the product will be available in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana .

“Today’s hectic and stressful lifestyles are impacting the quality of life and productivity of people. Data suggests that over 70% of men and women experience an episode of headache every month, and 36% suffer from it weekly”, said Anindya Chowdhury, Senior Director- Consumer Healthcare, Sanofi India

Caffeine has been shown to have a synergistic and well documented adjuvant action when combined with (painkillers). Research shows that adding caffeine to an analgesic for e.g. paracetamol, increases the potency of the analgesic by approximately 40%5, sanofi said in a press release.
