Ramesh Juneja and Rajeev Juneja, the brothers behind Mankind Pharma, have built one of India's top pharmaceutical companies with a distinctly mass-market focus.

Their growth journey has been marked by expansion across high-volume therapies such as anti-infectives, gastrointestinals and vitamins.

By closely tracking consumer needs, the Delhi-based company entered over-the-counter segment, creating popular brands such as Manforce condoms and PregaNews. A key strategic shift was an early entry into chronic therapies in 2004. In the past few years, it has launched a specialty business covering diabetes, cardiology, urology, neurology and respiratory diseases.

The company's approach to ramping up domestic manufacturing is aligned with the government's Make in India vision, including a focus on strong in-house manufacturing capabilities to deliver consistent quality at scale while ensuring cost efficiency and supply reliability.

Today, more than 75% of Mankind Pharma's manufacturing is in-house, including 32 production facilities. To boost domestic manufacturing, the company has completed a multi-year artificial intelligence-led transformation of its supply chain and strategic procurement functions.

"Our foundation has always been built on three simple principles-quality, affordability and accessibility.... We continue to invest in innovation, R&D (research and development) and digital capabilities while staying true to affordable healthcare," said chairman Ramesh Juneja. On the road ahead, he said: "We are expanding into chronic and specialty therapies, where the need for advanced yet accessible treatment is growing."

One of our key strengths is our ability to combine speed of execution with stability, taking bold strategic decisions while staying grounded in core values."
