Roche Diabetes starts manufacturing top glucose monitoring device in India

Roche Diabetes Care India (Roche) said its top-selling blood glucose monitoring device 'Accu-Chek Active' is now made in India, as part of company's strategy to improve access to diabetes care and meet the growing needs of the Indian market.

In addition to catering to the India market, Roche will use India as a hub to also supply Accu-Chek Active meters to Roche US and Germany in order to cater to the demands across the world. Roche said the first batch of made in India glucometers are already available in the market across the country.

Roche said the production of Accu-Chek Active meters will take place at its OEM partner Sanmina's state-of-the-art multi-client manufacturing site in Chennai in line with the globally approved quality standards.
