RK Bammi is Sami group chairman

BANGALORE: Dr RK Bammi, a member of the board of directors of Sami Labs, Bangalore, has been appointed as the chairman of the Sami Group of Companies.

Sami Labs is the holding company of Sabinsa Corporation, USA, which is its marketing arm spread across Europe, Japan, Australia and China.

Dr Muhammed Majeed, founder of the company, will continue to be the managing director of Sami Labs and CEO of Sabinsa Corporation. Dr Majeed said that Dr Bammi has been brought to the top of the company to further professionalise the Sami group.

Dr Bammi is a veteran in the pharma field, having worked with Ford Foundation and Cipla. He left Cipla in 1997 to join Sabinsa Corporation, New Jersey, as the president of its R&D and in 1999 joined the Board of Directors of Sami Labs Limited, Bangalore.
