'Re not to impact Jubilant's profit margins'
Pharma company Jubilant Organosys says rupee appreciation will not impact its profit margins during the current fiscal.
"The way we are growing we do not expect the profit margins to be affected by rupee appreciation. Our gross margins have improved and we will meet our revenue guidance for this fiscal comfortably," Jubilant Organosys Co-Chairman and Managing Director Hari S Bhartiya said on the sidelines of CII Life Sciences Summit.
A major portion of the company's revenue comes from export. It had closed the previous fiscal with a topline of Rs 1,867.30 crore.
Bhartiya said Jubilant's model is based on contract research and manufacturing and it does not intend to market drugs under its own label.
"We will continue making products for companies in Europe and the US and will only make products which are out of patent," Bhartiya said.
Jubilant does business with 15 out of the top 20 global drug makers on both research and drug manufacturing front.
