Ranbaxy Labs settles Imitrex patent litigation

Ranbaxy Laboratories has settled all matters relating to possible patent litigation with GlaxoSmithKline relating to Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets, the generic version of Imitrex tablets.

MUMBAI: Ranbaxy Laboratories has settled all matters relating to possible patent litigation with GlaxoSmithKline relating to Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets, the generic version of Imitrex tablets.

As per the terms of settlement, Ranbaxy may distribute generic version of Sumatriptan Succinate tablets in the US by December. The annual sales for Sumatriptan Succinate (Imitrex) were $ 985 million. At 11:14 am, Ranbaxy Laboratories shares were up 0.76 per cent at Rs 389.60 on the BSE.
