Ranbaxy Laboratories rejigs board, Malvinder is chairman

Ranbaxy Laboratories and its new owner Japan’s Daiichi Sankyo on Friday reconstituted a new 10-member board.

NEW DELHI: Ranbaxy Laboratories and its new owner Japan���s Daiichi Sankyo on Friday reconstituted a new 10-member board.

The company has retained only three members from its earlier 15 member board ��� former owner Malvinder Singh, COO Atul Sobti and Religare CEO & MD Sunil Godhwani.

Daiichi Sankyo���s president and CEO Takashi Shoda and member of board senior executive officer Tsutomu Une have also been appointed in the board.

Besides continuing with his existing responsibilities as CEO & MD, Mr Singh has been appointed the chairman of Ranbaxy and has also been inducted as a member of senior global management team of Daiichi Sankyo.

Some of the Ranbaxy board members who have stepped down include former non-executive chairman Harpal Singh, former CEO Brian Tempest, former co-owner Shivinder Singh, Ranbaxy ED Ramesh Adige, and directors Nimesh Kampani and Vinay Kaul.
