Ranbaxy got USFDA nod for Risperdal

The country's largest drugmaker Ranbaxy Laboratories received the US food and drug administration (USFDA) nod to sell generic version of Risperdal used in the treatment of schizophrenia in the US.

NEW DELHI: The country's largest drugmaker Ranbaxy Laboratories received the US food and drug administration (USFDA) nod to sell generic version of Risperdal used in the treatment of schizophrenia in the US.

As per the information on the regulator's website, the company has got a go ahead from USFDA to market and manufacture Risperidone in multiple strengths of 0.25 mg to 4 mg.

The drug Risperidone is used to is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia. It is also to treat behaviour problems such as aggression and self-injury and sudden mood changes in teenagers and children with autism.
