'Probe into Marion Biotech's cough syrup finds gaps in testing'

An investigation into allegations that Marion Biotech's paediatric cough syrup Dok-1 max is "unsafe" has found gaps in testing, documentation and procurement of the excipient propylene glycol (PG), which is used in its production, people aware of the matter told ET.

They said information related to the excipients, such as drug licence, batch number and adherence to the standards laid down by the Indian or US pharmacopoeias is missing. -
