Piramal Group renames its firms
Diversified business house, The Piramal Group on Tuesday said it has renamed its firms in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and glass ventures.

NEW DELHI: Diversified business house, The Piramal Group on Tuesday said it has renamed its firms in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and glass ventures.
As part of the makeover plans, the group's flagship company Nicholas Piramal India Ltd (NPIL) will now be known as Piramal Healthcare Ltd.
The other companies of the group, NPIL Laboratories and Diagnostics Private Ltd, and Gujarat Glass Ltd would become Piramal Diagnostic Services Private Ltd and Piramal Glass Ltd respectively, the Piramal Group said in a statement.
Gujarat Glass is a leading global manufacturer of glass packaging for pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, cosmetics and perfumery industries.
It however added, changes in the names of the companies were subject to shareholders and regulatory approvals.
"We, in the Piramal Group, have adopted the ancient, universal symbol of the Gyan Mudra as our new logo. The Gyan Mudra epitomises the core value of the group-knowledge, action and care," Piramal Group Chairman Ajay Piramal said.
The group's chosen logo, the Gyan Mudra has an aesthetic hand posture practised in Yoga, meditation and dance.
The group company formerly known as NPIL Research & Development Ltd was recently renamed Piramal Life Sciences Ltd and Indiareit Fund Advisors Pvt Ltd will continue to be known by its existing names.
Indiareit Fund Advisors Pvt Ltd is a real estate venture capital fund promoted by the Piramal Group and currently, it manages a total corpus of 450 million dollars.
