Perindopril patent right fetches Lupin 20 mn euros

Lupin has received 20 million euros from Laboratoires Servier of France for the sale of additional patent rights for Perindopril.

MUMBAI: Lupin has received 20 million euros from Laboratoires Servier of France for the sale of additional patent rights for Perindopril.

Earlier this year, Lupin received 20 million euros, or over Rs 115 crore, from the French company for sale of certain patent applications and other related intellectual property for the generic version of high blood pressure drug.

Perindopril, marketed as Coversyl tablets by Servier, is a new class of cardiovascular drugs such as Ramipril and Lisinopril.

At 11:24 am on BSE, Lupin share was up 1.53 per cent at Rs 600.15, with volume traded at 35,983 against two-week average of 91,910 shares.
