Orchid receives USFDA nod for anti-epileptic tablets

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said it has received US FDA's approval to sell anti-epileptic levetiracetam tablets in the American market.

NEW DELHI: Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals today said it has received US health regulator's approval to sell anti-epileptic levetiracetam tablets in the American market.

The company has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for levetiracetam tablets," Orchid Chemicals said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The company has received approval from USFDA for levetiracetam tablets in strength of 1,000 mg, it said.

Shares of Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals were trading at Rs 190.30 on BSE in late afternoon trade, up 0.58 per cent from its previous close.
