Orchid Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals Ltd clear USFDA inspection

CHENNAI: Chennai-based pharma company Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd has said its Cephalosporin API manufacturing (antibiotic) complex in Alathur, Chennai, has successfully cleared the USFDA inspection that it went through. The company announced this to the stock exchanges Wednesday.

“This test is conducted to show that our products and plant meet the required global standards,” the company spokesperson told ET. The facility has a capacity of 800 tonnes per annum. The oral and sterile Cephalosporin APIs produced here cater to developed markets such as the US, Europe and Japan.
