Orchid Chemicals gets USFDA approval for divalproex tablets

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has received US Food and Drug Administration approval for its abbreviated new drug application for divalproex sodium delayed-release tablets USP 125 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg.

MUMBAI: Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has received US Food and Drug Administration approval for its abbreviated new drug application for divalproex sodium delayed-release tablets USP 125 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg.

Divalproex sodium is an anticonvulsant (antiseizure) drug. It is also used to treat mania and to help prevent migraine headaches.

The company shares were up 3.19 per cent to Rs 84.15 on BSE.

BSE's Sensex closed at 8713.24, down 26 points or 0.30 per cent. The index touched an intra-day high of 8854.81 and a low of 8601.41.
