Orchid Chem gets USFDA nod for anti-bacterial drug
Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said it has received USFDA approval for multiple strengths of Cefpodoxime Proxetil tablets.
The company received the approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Cefpodoxime Proxetil tablets, in dosages of 100 mg and 200 mg, Orchid Chemicals said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
With limited generic competition in this product, the company hopes to garner a sizable market share and revenues in the US market, the company added.
Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic which has a broad spectrum activity against organisms causing infectious diseases.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 233, up 2.55 per cent on the BSE in afternoon trade.
