The Centre on Wednesday said that no irregularities in distribution of medicines in Central Government hospitals have come to notice.

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Wednesday said that no irregularities in distribution of medicines in Central Government hospitals have come to notice.

However, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi told the Lok Sabha that one case was detected in Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in which an employee was "getting" medicines issued using fake prescriptions.

The person has been placed under suspension and a criminal case has been registered against him, said the minister.

The minister further told that government hospitals are procuring medicines from funds allocated for supplies and materials and no separate funds are provided for purchasing medicines.
