Nitta Gelatin India Ltd (NGIL) to launch three new product

COCHIN: Nitta Gelatin India Ltd ( NGIL), a joint venture between Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation & Nitta Gelatin Inc. Japan, is planning to launch three new product targeting the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical markets before the end of this fiscal.

The company is currently marketing Gelixer Collagen Pep, a nutritional supplement for bone and joint health, in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The OTC product will be launched in other states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and the leading metro cities.

Speaking to reporters here G Suseelan, managing director, Nitta Gelatin India Ltd said that the company will launch a similar product called Cartipep through the prescription route. A variant of the product targeted at physically active people like sportsmen, dancers etc is also getting ready for launch. A third product for treating pressure ulcers would also be launched before the end of the year.

The company manufactures gelatin, collagen peptide, chitosan, ossein and di calcium phosphate. NGIL hopes to end the year 2011-12 with a turnover of Rs 250 crore. The company has manufacturing locations in Kakkanad, Koratty, Aroor (all in Kerala) and Nagpur and Aroor.
